DETROIT-Following last week's opening the a third new residence hall in the past four years, Wayne State University's president says he plans to have a new engineering development center built on the campus by the end of the decade.

TROY, MI-The university is leaving the Top of Troy building for a new location near Interstate 75. The new location will allow the university to forgo its previous above-market rent costs, while increasing signage visibility to Interstate 75.

DETROIT-Wayne State, historically known for being a commuter school, will open a new residence hall on Monday. The most recent hall marks the third student-residence to open on campus within the past four years.

DETROIT-Doug Rothwell, former head of the Michigan Economic Development Corp., is selected to lead Detroit Renaissance. In his role, he is tasked to focus efforts on economic and physical development and public policy issues as they pertain to the revitalization of Detroit.

DETROIT-Orton Development Inc./Midway Corporate Plaza LLC is investing $67 million to restore and rehabilitate the Argonaut building to include lofts, office and retail space, while Mercier Development Lafer invests more than $2.8 million for the redevelopment of the Lafer Building into apartments.
