MINNEAPOLIS-The surface parking lot was key to a $78-million renovation and housing development project in the workers by developers Jeffrey Laux and Gary Benson. The deal was struck after the city of Minneapolis authorized condemnation proceedings.
BLAINE, MN-Glimcher Realty Trust is still undertaking a $20-million renovation of the 976,000 sf mall. Blaine's city council previously had approved a separate request to help the mall, which has lost several anchor tenants in recent years.
MINNEAPOLIS-The housing developer will buy and redevelop the 500,000-sf Syndicate Trust Building, part of a $69-million plan with Loftworks LLC of St. Louis to buy and redevelop it housing and retail. Sherman Associates also has major redevelopment projects planned in Kansas City and Milwaukee.

COON RAPIDS, MN-Gov. Tim Pawlenty focuses on $37.5 million for the $265-million Northstar Commuter Line. Meanwhile, $321 million will go for higher education projects, $104 million for prisons and other security facilities, and $40 million will go for biotech research and development projects.

ST. PAUL-The developer, JLT Group, is starting to take reservations for the some 1,100 residential condo units that will be part of the first phase. The $1.5-billion urban village would build up to 4,000 residential units, 600,000 sf of retail, and several entertainment and cultural attractions.
LILYDALE, MN-The two-story, 16,185-sf building office building is next to the Stonebridge housing development. The office is geared for medical practices such as its first tenant, the Center for Reproductive Medicine.
MINNEAPOLIS-Houston-based Hines is turning over leasing of four empty floors to the Minneapolis office of Colliers Turley Martin Tucker. The portion of the vacant space totals some 85,000 sf in the 1.3-million-sf office tower.
