ATLANTA-In a surprise move, R. Dary Stone, president and chief operating officer of Cousins Properties Inc., is moving back to Texas to spend more time with his family. His replacement hasn't been announced.

CLAYTON, NC-The Kalikow Group of New York and North Carolina-based EYC Cos. received a fixed-rate, 10-year term loan for the 136-unit, five-year-old property, 30 miles southeast of Downtown Raleigh in Johnston County.

ATLANTA-The Midtown 160-room hotel was converted from a vacant office building by Atlanta developer Songy Partners Ltd. Maryland-based Crestline Hotels & Resorts will manage the property.

BIRMINGHAM, AL-The locally based retailer is converting its McRae's department store in Birmingham's Brookwood Village Mall into a Parisian department store this summer. The conversion cost was not disclosed.

NASHVILLE, TN-The 30-story SunTrust Center in Downtown Nashville was sold to a partnership led by local real estate developer Tom Smith and Norvell Olive, chief executive officer of New Life Corp. of America. Connecticut General Life Insurance Company was the seller and will retain an ownership interest.

HOLMESVILLE, MS-NRG Energy Inc. of Minneapolis has started construction on a $450 million natural gas power plant in Mississippi. When completed, the 1,200 megawatt plant will employ 20. Shaw Constructors of Baton Rouge, LA is the general contractor.
