BOSTON-In a deal that has been in the works for seven years, the Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center sells the development rights to the 240-acre Thompson Island, the last privately owned island in the Boston Harbor, for $4 million.

BROOKLINE, MA-A plan to turn the former St. Aidan's Church and its environs into a 74-unit market-rate and affordable-housing project is approved by the town's board of selectmen. The project involves using the church for some units as well as developing townhouses and an apartment building.

AGAWAM, MA- Litron Inc. acquires a 2.88-acre parcel in the Agawam Regional Industrial Park from Westmass Area Development Corp. The company, which develops laser hermetic sealing systems and services, will use the site to develop a 17,510-sf manufacturing facility.

WORCESTER, MA-MeadWestvaco Corp. is closing its Consumer & Office Products Group envelope plant. The Stamford, Ct-based company terms the move a financial one and says it will transfer the manufacturing done here to other facilities.

BEVERLY, MA-Infogrames Entertainment SA sells 50 Dunham Rd. to East-West Enterprises Co. LTD in a sale/leaseback transaction. As part of the sale, Infogrames USA will lease 55,000 sf of corporate headquarters space in the 105,000-sf building.

BOSTON-The Federal Aviation Administration releases approves a new runway at Logan International Airport, but stipulates that it can only be used in windy conditions. This is the first runway in the country to have such restrictions.

CAMBRIDGE, MA-DataPower Technology Inc. relocates its headquarters from 324 Rindge Ave. to One Alewife Center. The company, which wanted to remain in the area, recently secured $9.5 million in financing and needed additional space to accommodate its growth.
