PEABODY, MA-The Peabody Essex Museum's expansion project, which involves a 100,000-sf addition, is entering its last phase. The museum has closed its doors and plans to reopen this June after the completion of the $125-million project.
WILMINGTON, MA-Dow Industries renews its lease for 33,000-sf of office and research and development space at 200 Research Dr., which is located in Wilmington Technology Park, just off of Route 93. The deal is good news in this three million-sf market.
MILFORD, MA-In an era of hospital closures and cutbacks, the Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital, located at the intersection of Routes 140 and 16, is about to do something highly irregular: expand. The hospital is set undertake a $45-million expansion project that is the largest in its history.

STOUGHTON, MA-In the second of what it says will be more acquisitions, Home Properties purchases Stone Ends Apartments from Archstone Smith Communities. The New York-based REIT purchased a 696-unit development in Waltham, MA last year.
WALTHAM, MA-Texas Instruments renews and expands its lease at 400-1 Totten Pond Rd. in the Totten Pond Office Center. The Dallas-based high-tech company is expanding from 18,855 sf to 34,890 sf.
CHELMSFORD, MA-Siemens Information Systems subleases 65,184 sf from Tellabs at 271 Mill Rd. The building is one of two that Tellabs had built in an attempt to consolidate all of its area offices. But the tech wreck forced the company to put the buildings on the sublease market.
METHUEN, MA-3M Corp. renews its lease for 38,823 sf of space at 300 Griffin Brook Park. The deal represents a downsizing of space as MicroTouch Systems was leasing 90,000 sf at this location when 3M bought the company in 2001.
BOSTON-San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is opening two new hotels in the area and a company executive tells GlobeSt.com that this is just the beginning. The company is looking for locations in the city to develop additional lodging properties.
