FREETOWN, MA-The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. plans to build a 1.3 million sf distribution center on a 151-acre parcel off South Main Street. The plan involves buildings two warehouses and is estimated to cost about $45 million. The fate of the company's Readville facility is unclear.

NATICK, MA-If General Growth Properties has its way the Natick Mall is about to grow. The Chicago-based developer made a formal presentation to the town's planning board outlining its plans to expand the 1.6-million sf mall.

MIDDLETON, RI-Barnes & Noble signs a lease agreement for a 23,520-sf store in Middleton Square on 1305 West Main Rd. The store will be the bookseller's third in the state.
