CONCORD, NC-After a four-year search for a new home, Controls & Instrumentation Co. plans to build a 6,000-sf office/warehouse operation at the new West Winds Business Park in Concord, NC, about 25 miles northeast of Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE-Trammell Crow Co. plans to add a seventh building to its six-building, 350,000-sf Forest Park office project in the southwest submarket at Interstate 77 near the airport. The estimated construction cost is $10 million.

SALISBURY-Dearborn, MI-based Meredian Automotive Systems Inc., a truck and auto parts manufacturer, plans to open an $18-million manufacturing plant near Salisbury, NC, about 50 miles north of Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE-MortgageRamp and Allied Capital Express see mutual benefits in the joint partnership. MortgageRamp gains entry to Allied's small business community clients. Allied wins a ticket to sell a mix of products to MortgageRamp's commercial real estate client base.

CHARLOTTE-Former racing star Ray Price touches up $3-million, four-acre asset, one of the largest dealerships in the country. The three-story structure houses a sales and service center, a retail section, a drag-racing museum and a 5,600-sf, top-floor apartment where Price and his wife live.

CHARLOTTE-Encore Products of Chandler, AZ and locally-based MetroTech Chemicals Inc. are expanding their businesses and staffs. Encore is moving into a renovated 80,000-sf warehouse on Sugar Creek Road where the work force is expected to grow to 300.

CHARLOTTE-Bruton Smith, chairman of Speedway Motorsports and Sonic Automotive, thinks the project, AutoSAT, is timely because auto makers have invested heavily in the region over the past 10 years.

CHARLOTTE-Uptown Charlotte is awash in new hotel construction, the latest and largest being the 700-room Westin which has just broken ground across from the convention center at a development cost of $144 million, or $205,714 per room.
