FREMONT, CA-The Warm Springs site moves into lead position for development of a new Major League Baseball stadium after the Oakland City Council approves development of a housing complex on the A's first choice.

DESOTO, TX-The Covenant Group of Fort Worth has started site work on a 9.9-acre tract in DeSoto for 180 units of affordable seniors housing. The developer gets a 40-year construction loan at 5.83% interest to push the project.

ATLANTA-The spring buying spree includes a 101,207-sf Alpharetta, GA office building for an estimated $14.9 million ($147.22 per sf) and the $15-million purchase ($150 per sf) of a 100,000-sf building at nearby Johns Creek.

AUSTIN-With retail thriving, it's time to redo the streetscape, says the city. The proposal has Austin officials gathering input from merchants, property owners and residents to determine priorities. The work could start in May 2003.
