HOUSTON-CalSTERS rakes in $650,000 more than the asking price for a 19-year-old complex that attracted 21 offers in two weeks. Denver's Archstone Communities is the buyer of the 256-unit, 13-building property.

ORLANDO-The 2,048-room Riverside Hotel, also a part of the park's Port Orleans resort, reopened in March after closing in fall of last year. The 26-year-old River Country, however, closed in April and is expected to stay closed. River Country was Disney's first water park.

SAN JOSE- The historic Montgomery Hotel, to be restored by DivcoWest and operated by Joie de Vivre Hospitality, was built in 1911 and served as a downtown hotel until 1962 when it was converted to residential use. The San Jose Redevelopment Agency purchased the land and hotel in 1982 for $450,000.

NEWARK, NJ-The state, city, county and owner of the Nets and Devils will all share in the cost of the project. The deal still has to be approved by the legislature, and that could be a problem.
