GREATER NEW YORK-Kmart Corp. today released a hit list of 284 stores that will close as part of its initial Chapter 11 financial objectives review. Nine New York Big Kmart stores are affected.

LONDON-The level of vacant industrial space across Great Britain rose 7.8% in the final four months of 2001 to stand at 176 million sf at the year end. And vacancies are 20.9% higher than at the start of 2001.

WASHINGTON, DC-The National Building Museum and Turner Construction Company join in the creation and presentation of the Henry C. Turner Prize for Innovation in Construction Technology, which will be awarded to World Trade Center structural engineer Leslie E. Robertson.
