LOS ANGELES-An Inglewood church today said it has agreed to pay $22.5 million for the Great Western Forum, the hallowed home of a half-dozen championship basketball teams lead by LA Laker greats Jerry West, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Earvin (Magic) Johnson.

DALLAS-A well-known veteran of Texas mortgage circles has been named regional vice president for the southern region of GN Mortgage, based in in Memphis. Blair Ball is the co-founder of the Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers.

PHOENIX-The Valley's hotel market could see a slight increase in demand and a 3% increase in room rates, provided that a recession doesn't crimp tourism and business travel.

NEW YORK CITY-Some industry analysts expect an economic slowdown would soften guestroom demand at a time when some markets are seeing substantial additions to their hotel inventory. Other sections of the country are experiencing less activity.
