LOS ANGELES-Pivotal Century Plaza Hotel LLC spends $70 million on the Century Plaza Hotel and another $40 million Saint Regis, neighboring hotels fronting the Avenue of the Stars. "We have created an urban resort," says company founder Francis Najafi.

SEATTLE-The Alexandria, VA-based REIT paid $129.3 million for a total of 995 units in Issaquah, Lynwood and Everett as part of a nine-property portfolio acquisition from developer Trammell Crow Residential.

VALLEY CENTER, CA-The Rincon Band of Mission Indians and the county have reached an agreement to kick in $7 million toward road improvements along Valley Center Road for its casino.
