NEW YORK CITY-The former mayor pulled a behind-the-scenes Hollywood shuffle during his last week in office, quietly green-lighting a Staten Island movie-studio plan helmed by ex-mayoral crony Danny Aiello and a $40-million handout that could finally get cameras rolling at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

ROCHESTER, MN-The architectural and engineering firm has tapped Gary Gray as head of the new office. The move is part of the firm's local focus, putting offices in areas where its clients are.

NASHVILLE, TN-The price and total amount of real estate involved were not disclosed in the 40-location acquisition by the Nashville operator.

FORT MYERS, FL-The Florida Forever Acquisition and Restoration Council has recommended the state purchase 10,000 acres of the Babcock Ranch and place another 34,000 acres under an environmental easement that would prevent future development. In return, the Babcock family would be allowed to develop 20,000 acres. Gov. Jeb Bush and the Florida Cabinet rule on the plan Jan. 29.

SAN FERNANDO, CA-Acey Decy, which services the entertainment industry, buys a 58,000-sf industrial building here and will move its 40 workers from North Hollywood next month. The deal reflects a growing appetite for space-users in the area to own rather than rent.

DETROIT-The smaller of the two grants, $150,000, helps the local Port Authority conduct environmental investigation and limited remedial activities on 35 acres along the Detroit River on West Jefferson Avenue.
