Dermody Properties recently acquired a property in Fremont, which has long been a preferred industrial site due to accessibility to the Bay Area, access to engineering and manufacturing labor, and business-friendly environment.

The international manufacturer of automation sensors, vision systems, barcode readers, laser markers, measuring instruments, and digital microscopes has agreed to a long-term lease for 80,849 square feet at Building II at the complex located in the O'Hare industrial submarket.

The Blackstone entity acquired the property in partnership with Roman Real Estate Holdings, Inc., according to NAI James E. Hanson, which brokered the deal on behalf of the buyer.

Karlin Conklin, an outspoken advocate on the importance of C-suite diversity, notes that females in principal and director roles in this industry are not the norm, but comprise more than half of IMG staff.

The developer plans a three-building industrial property totaling 410,000 square feet.

The tariffs are already impacting cargo volumes at the Port of Long Beach this year, and investors are preparing for the potential impact on the real estate market.
