The leasing opportunity at Pier 17 has up to 18,000 square feet along the Embarcadero where it is adjacent to the Exploratorium Science Museum at Pier 15.

In conjunction with the purchase, TA Realty has hired Avison Young as the exclusive leasing, property management, and project management firm for the 15-story, 146,202-square-foot, multi-tenant, class A office building.

WeWork reports it plans to open the new facility on Nov. 1 and will be occupying space on floors 18 through 20.

Most office projects are delivered preleased as occupiers pursued a flight to quality, such as Fox's recent Harwood lease, as space is offset by move-outs of third-generation space in first and second quarters.

Located in Dorchester, the property is across the street from the 20-acre site of the former Bayside Expo Center. Accordia Partners and Ares Management were selected by the University of Massachusetts earlier this year to develop the Bayside Expo Center site.

The four Ventas-Wexford projects are located in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and St. Louis and are part of Ventas' near-term $1.5 billion R&I pipeline of expected new projects previously announced by Ventas.

The total number of businesses grew by 11.1% from 2011 to 2016, surpassing the statewide business gains of 8.6%.
