DETROIT-An $8-million hotel is being built in Southfield at Northwestern Highway and 10 Mile Road by Kappa Enterprises LLC, here.The Hawthorn Suites hotel will be three stories high, built on three acres, says Marty Smith, an architect from Siegal/Tuomaala Associates Architects and Planners Inc.

The Farmington Hills firm is the architect for the project, which passed the Planning Commission in September, and is currently up for building plan review, Smith says.

The facility will feature two large conference rooms and other amenities.

The builder is Capitol Construction Co. of Rochester.
