SAN DIEGO-Progress is being made on the construction of the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter at Bridgeworks.

Roel Construction Co. is handling development of the hotel at 250 Fifth Ave. It’s one of a handful of new hotel projects in the Downtown area, which is seeing a resurgence in the demand as the new Convention Center expansion moves toward completion.

The 30,000-sf project includes19 hotel rooms and 11 suites. The suites include three presidential suites, two conference rooms and offices.

S.D. Malkin Properties is the developer, and Newport Beach-based WATG is the architect for the project, slated for completion this month.
