SAN RAMON, CA-Shapell Industries, the developer of the planned Alamo Creek project, pitched its revised proposal to a panel of county and city regional planning officials last week.

During the meeting, the project’s progress was outlined, including more than 10 public hearings and several impact reports. Since this time, Shapell has revised its plans. The original proposal included 679 single-family houses, 124 townhouses and 120 senior-housing units.

The developer now proposes 10 three-story apartment buildings on Camino Tassajara and Crow Canyon Road with 96 affordable housing units, 120 below-market units, and 90 moderately priced units. With an addition of senior housing, the traffic impact will be considerably less.

Shapell will also provide more than double the required school impact funds to the district by supplying $28 million in land, buildings and improvements. A public hearing will be held next month to receive public comment on the development.
