Archway Building 285,000-SF Warehouse

ROGERS, MN-Opus Northwest recently began construction on a build-to-suit facility for Archway Marketing Services on South Diamond Lake Road just west of the current Archway facility here. Most of the 285,000-sf facility will be warehouse and production space, Archway officials say.

Construction is slated for completion by the end of this year. Archway’s current building in the city, which is less than three years old, is more than 400,000 sf and is near full capacity, says Don Plantenberg, general manager of the Midwest division of Archway’s marketing materials fulfillment services. “New business opportunities combined with significant growth with our existing clients are driving the need for the additional space,” he says. Although it typically takes months of planning and development for new construction, Plantenberg adds “we don’t have that luxury this time around.”

“We need to have this building up and ready for production by year-end 2004 in order to meet our clients’ requirements,” he says. By building on the lot just west of its current facility, the company will be able to retain its current employee base and its current management group will be able to oversee both operations, says Theresa Niles, president of Archway Marketing Services.

With the addition of this new facility, Archway will now manage more than 2.5 million sf of centralized distribution and warehouse facilities to support its customer fulfillment business. Archway is privately held by AHL Services, Inc., based in Alexandria, VA. Opus Northwest is an affiliate of the Opus Group of Cos., a Minnetonka, MN-based design, construction and development firm.
