BOSTON-Global architect firm IA Interior Architects shopped the city for office space but in the end, found out that there’s no place like home. The Boston-based interior design firm opted to stay at its Faneuil Hall location at 160 State St. under a five-year renewal. The company will remain in 2,700 sf at the site where it has occupied the entire top floor of the building for the last several years.

“The downtown location is a great place for us to conduct our business and the immediate proximity to the financial district strengthens our service capabilities, providing convenience for our clients and staff,” says William O’Leary, a principal with the firm and its managing director. The building is located just steps from Quincy Market, Government Center, the North End, Boston’s waterfront and Financial Districts.

The 10-story, 26,671-sf building, is home to a number of small businesses but is best known as the location of the Black Rose, one of Boston’s landmark Irish pubs. Terms of the lease arrangement were not released.

The transaction was negotiated for IA by William J. Crean Jr,, first vice president with CB Richard Ellis/Whittier Partners. The property’s owner Northland Investment Corp., was represented by William Kelly, senior leasing analyst and Bruce Nolen, vice president of Commercial Real Estate for Northland.
