Tile Maker Seals Five-Year Deal for North American HQ

CARROLLTON, TX-A tile manufacturer from Spain, now working out of 5,000 sf of temporary industrial space in the metro, has leased 27,200 sf of shell space in Valwood Industrial Park after spending nearly six months pitting Dallas/Fort Worth against several other top-ranked industrial cities in the country. The five-year lease kicks off May 1.

Azuvi Tile Co. plans to use the 1641 Wallace Rd. location as its North American headquarters, Steve Wolff, senior associate in Dallas for Grubb & Ellis Co., tells GlobeSt.com. The local broker says the tile company’s executive team put Dallas/Fort Worth at the top of the search list because it’s equidistant to both coasts and a straight shot to the Port of Houston. The tile importer has been working out of space along Luna Road in North Dallas. “That was just a temporary fix for them,” Wolff explains.

Azuvi’s only Texas distribution center is being integrated into a 108,000-sf office/warehouse owned by Des Moines-based Principal Financial Group, which has Kacy Jones with Holt Lunsford Commercial as its representative for the space. The sweet spot of Azuvi’s just-signed deal is “all TIs are included,” according to Wolff. The building, completed about a year ago, carries a $5.50 per sf door-opening quote.
