Called New Blue, the five-building property will be set on 12acres and will serve as BCBST's new headquarters. The nonprofithealth plan will move 4,500 employees from 10 city locations to thesite when construction is expected to wrap up in 2009. Turan Duda,design principal of Duda/Paine Architects of Durham, NC, and RogerStaubach, the former football great whose real estate consultingfirm will oversee the project, detailed the new campus late lastweek.

The campus will include four 200,000-sf, five-floor officebuildings and a fifth four-floor building that will house amenitiessuch as a dining, training and conference space, a spokesman forDuda/Paine tells GlobeSt.com. The office buildings will faceDowntown, with the amenities building situated behind them, headds.

"With this arrangement, we create a perceptual connectionbetween the BCBST campus and Downtown. The campus becomes a visiblepart of Downtown to everyone who travels on Chattanooga's majorstreets," Turan Duda explains in a release. "At the same time,employees of BCBST gain open sightlines deep into the city theyinhabit."
