Electronics giant Motorola is in negotiations on the largest ofthe deals at 193,000 sf, according to James Lipscomb, with RichardsBarry Joyce and Partners' Boston office, tells GlobeSt.com. Themove was part of Motorola's consolidation strategy to merge itsAndover, Tewksbury, Lexington, Southborough and Marlboroughoperations.

Also in negotiations are Sterling Commerce, an AT&T company,which will take 60,000 sf, and Corning Life Sciences, which willmove into 32,000 sf at the 900 Chelmsford St. office park. Thethree tenants could be in the building by March, Lipscomb says.

The sudden surge in rental activity at Cross Point can beattributed to DivcoWest's aggressive deal making capabilities, saysLipscomb. He handled the transaction for the landlord along withJohn Wilson, Brian Connolly and Brian McKenzie, all with RichardsBarry Joyce and Partners.
