The largest, $2-million in PIDA funding, is granted to theCentre County Industrial Development Corp. to develop more than 134acres for the Rockview Business Park in Benner Twp. The land alongI 99 and Rte. 150 near Penn State University is the former site ofRockville State Correctional Institution, which was transferred bythe state in 2005.

At that time the state provided $175,000 in predevelopmentgrants. The site is being transformed into a light and heavyindustrial complex. The total project cost is estimated at morethan $5.3 million. According to Benner Twp. meeting records, apotential tenant, locally based Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co.,has been identified for possible occupancy of a 100,000-sfdistribution center on 40 acres in the park.

Philadelphia-based Dijas Capital LLC, the holding company ofIrene's Bakery and Gourmet Kitchen Inc., has acquired the 19,060-sfformer Fanny May Chocolate Factory in Buck County's Bensalem Twp.According to published reports, it paid in excess of $1 million forthe 28-year-old building. The $436,000 PIDA loan will fundrenovation, and the company plans to be operational at the newfacility this July.
