Abbott has asked the village to consider a planned developmentdistrict for a gated, campus-like complex for uses centered onhealthcare and pharmaceutical research and development, includingrelated business offices, that would not be open to the public. Thesite would accommodate 12,000 workers, according to villageofficials, and would include the construction of a new fire stationand water tower.

The Janko Group is in the preliminary stages of deciding how touse its land, with plans including retail, office and lightindustrial, says Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler Land Groupsenior associate Anne Dempsey. She arranged the sale, purchasedfrom various farmers, on behalf of Gary Janko, but says she cannotdivulge the land price.

"There won't be any residential uses for the Janko site," shetells GlobeSt.com. "It could just be a business park, and couldinclude a retail lifestyle center." Janko is working on securingwater and sewer for the land, and waiting to hear what Abbottannounces for its property, Dempsey says. Abbott has not had itszoning request approved yet by the Pleasant Prairie Village Boardof Trustees. "From what I hear, besides the campus, there will alsobe two hotels, one with a conference center," Dempsey says.
