Jergler Takes Helm of Real Estate Southern California

LOS ANGELES-Don Jergler, a business reporter with the Long Beach Press-Telegram, has joined Real Estate Media as editor of Real Estate Southern California. As a business reporter for the Press-Telegram, he specialized in the real estate beat and launched the popular video blog “Realty Bites.”

Jergler joined the Press-Telegram in 2002. He had previously been a business reporter with the San Gabriel Valley News Group, as well as a business editor with a daily newspaper in the High Desert North region of Los Angeles County. His coverage of the business market and his online experience will play a major role in continuing the growth path Real Estate Media is on, says Michael Desiato, editorial director and VP of Real Estate Media parent ALM’s Real Estate Division.

“We’re delighted that Don will be heading up our expanding regional coverage,” says Desiato. “His strong industry background and understanding of the state’s markets will be an invaluable asset to our readers and to our organization.”

Those attributes will also benefit the print-to-online integration process that REM forged late last year with the intent of presenting a single authoritative voice for readers regardless of the medium. To date, Real Estate New Jersey; Real Estate New York; and the newly launched Real Estate Florida have completed the integration process.
