CHICAGO-Grubb & Ellis Co. has been tapped by Health Care Service Corp. as the leasing agent of 300 E. Randolph St. This is the first time third party occupants will have the opportunity to take space within the class A office building, which totals 2.3 million square feet.

Grubb’s Mark Parrish and Sara Spicklemire will work to fill 175,000 square feet. Continuous space varies but a block of up to 130,000 square feet will be available by early 2011.

The building’s location and class A standing will likely set it apart, according to Grubb executives.

“World-class architecture and access to public transportation and amenities combined with strong, stable ownership and anchor tenancy by HCSC serve to make this an unparalleled opportunity for prospective tenants in the downtown Chicago marketplace,” says Parrish.

The facility was built in 1997 and was fully occupied by HCSC. Then, recently the 1.4-million-square-foot building was expanded to include 900,000 square feet more. HCSC does not need all the new space and will be opening the property to third-party occupants for the first time.
