ALEXANDRIA, VA-The American Clean Skies Foundation is looking toreconstruct the Mirant Power Plant in Alexandria. The nonprofitgroup plans to replace the existing plant with a $450 millionmixed-use development consisting of 200,000 square feet of retailand office space, a 125-room hotel, a new energy museum, 590residential units and public space.

However, GenOn Energy Inc., which controls the plant, has noplans to close the plant. ACSF hopes to start the project in 2015.For the full story, go to Washington Business Journal.
