ALEXANDRIA, VA-The Washington Post reported that the AlexandriaCity Council has granted approval for a proposal to redevelop thecity's Beauregard area. As per the approval, the five developers,owners of 5,000 apartments units in the region, are allowed to razedown half of the units and redevelop more expansive apartments.

The city agreed a pact that will offer 800 affordable units forthe next four decades in place of a development for an additionalspace of 2.4 million square feet. For the full story, go toWashington Business Journal .
