NEWPORT BEACH, CA-Social media is a new phenomenon just as radiowas at one time; however, this new technology allows individualsthe ability to reach out to many people much more economically andwith great regularity, says Howard Kline ofCRE Radio, a technology expert. Kline contendsthat the approach most people in the commercial real estateindustry have to social media is flawed.

“The leverage that social marketing offers is the ability toamplify your voice, your message, and to reach more people at onetime—not to sell real estate or make appointments per se,” Klinesaid during his keynote address at a panel discussion titled,“Social Media, Apps and Technology for Commercial Real Estate.” Thediscussion took place earlier this month at Sperry VanNess/SVN Management Inc.’s broker forum event here.
