NEW YORK CITY-The City Planning Commission has voted in favor ofthe Seward Park mixed-use development project. The proposed planfor the Lower East Side project, which has been under considerationfor nearly five decades, calls for turning city-owned plots into a1.65-million-square-foot development with 60% residential and 40%commercial space.

The seven-acre site is located south of Delancey Street,adjacent to Williamsburg Bridge. The plan still needs to get finalapproval from the City Council as well as mayor. For the fullstory, go to Crain's New York Business .
