ST. LOUIS-The AFL-CIO Building Investment Trust has startedconstruction on a $42-million apartment complex in the 26-acreHighlands development just south of Forest Park. KMOX reported thatthe labor trust is financing the five-story apartment complex andthe project will create nearly 200 construction jobs.
The 278-unit project, called the Cortona, will feature a saltwater swimming pool, a 7,000-square-foot clubhouse and an outdoorkitchen. Construction is scheduled to be finished in early 2014.For the full story, go to St. Louis Business Journal .
