STAMFORD, CT-As the trend of senior executives looking to live closer to where they work rises, end users are considering Manhattan’s inner-ring suburbs to establish their corporate headquarters. Evidenced by names like NBC Sports, ESPN and Cigna, Stamford’s class A office market is diversifying its tenant base and evolving from 9-5 office market to a 24/7 mixed-use city.

“We are seeing a lot of companies, large companies that are not only looking to relocate locally, but also out of Manhattan,” says Scott Landis, principal of the Landis Group, the owner/manager of 400 Atlantic St. in the city’s CBD, the building that just secured the 75,000-square-foot lease from Charter Communications – one of the largest deals in the state year-to-date. “We have prospective tenants talking to us now in the 50,000-100,000-square-foot range, which is wonderful to see. They wanting to be downtown, wanting close proximity to the train station as well as I-95, which luckily 400 Atlantic hits all of these important. We’ve been pleasantly surprised, and all of a sudden, since we announced Charter, a lot more people have been calling, reaching out and wanting to tour the building, so there’s been a lot more activity.”
