ORLANDO-A New York-based development firm has started workearlier this month on a 246-unit apartment complex in downtownOrlando. On November 27, Hawthorne, New York-based GDC PropertiesLLC organized a groundbreaking ceremony for its six-storymultifamily project that is estimated to cost $35.9 million.

The eco-friendly NORA apartments will come up on North OrangeAvenue. The project will also include a 15,000-square-foot interiorcourtyard, 10,000 square feet of retail and a 400-space parkinggarage.
