NEW YORK CITY-A joint venture between Global Holdings Inc. andZeckendorf Development LLC has started work on a $500-millionapartment tower within the United Nations Plaza. The 44-storytower, called 50 United Nations Plaza, will be overlooking theManhattan skyline and the UN Headquarters.

Foster + Partners, a London-based architectural firm, is thearchitect behind the 87-unit apartment tower, which will be one ofmost environmentally friendly residential buildings in New YorkCity.
