As one chairman (Boyd R. Zoccola) prepares to leave office and another (Joseph W. Markling) begins his term, it seemed an appropriate time to ask them to reflect and project.

Asked what he feels his biggest accomplishment was, Zoccola believes that, in an era of cutbacks it was “growing our services to meet the needs of the industry.” The association has grown its suite of area-measurement standards, which now includes office, industrial, gross-area, multi-unit residential, retail and mixed-use. Plus, “We have more than 420 buildings in BOMA 360, which has become a viable alternative in the marketplace today.”
