CHICAGO – Transwestern has negotiated a long-term lease extension at U.S. Cellular Plaza for APICS The Association for Operations Management.    APICS will lease 32,295 square feet in the building for 10 years, which is located at 8430 West Bryn Mawr in Chicago’s O’Hare submarket. Financial terms of the lease agreement were not disclosed.    “The lease extension represents a much-needed boost to the O’Hare office market where direct vacancy remains high at 25.7%,” says Tony Karmin, executive vice president at Transwestern and lead representation for APICS in the lease negotiations.     Karmin told GlobeSt.com that the lease was restructured to make it 10-years.  He said the site was perfectly placed for APICS as it was near the O’Hare International Airport.    “U.S. Cellular Plaza continues to represent an ideal location for APICS because of its efficient floor plates, amenities, access to public transportation and building naming rights,” he says.    U.S. Cellular Plaza is a Class A, 640,000-square-foot office building that is about 82% leased. Jason Simon and Francis Prock of Colliers International represented Charlotte, NC-based asset manager Faison & Associates LLC, in the deal.      APICS moved its headquarters to Chicago in 2008 from Alexandria, VA. The 55-year-old global supply chain and operations management association currently employs 75 people in Chicago.    “Chicago is a strong international destination. Its role as a strategic transportation access point makes it a consistent center for activity in the supply chain and operations management arena,” says Abe Eshkenazi, APICS chief executive officer.    Transwestern is a privately held real estate firm specializing in agency leasing, property and facilities management, tenant advisory, capital markets, development, research and sustainability.
