CBD Macy's Readies to Close

HOUSTON-Macy’s downtown store is set to close this Saturday, March 7. According to the Houston Chronicle, the closing was announced in January of this year, though the Cincinnati-based retailer indicated the closing date would be flexible and depended on the amount of merchandise remaining by the weekend.

The 791,000-square-foot store has been operational at 1110 Main St. since 1947, when it opened as a Foley’s department store.  Though it’s been reported that Macy’s lease is ready to run out at the location, the Harris Central Appraisal District lists 1110 Main Partners LP in Cincinnati, OH, as the building’s owners.
