RIVERDALE PARK, MD-The County Council voted unanimously onTuesday to permit Washington, DC-based Calvin CafritzEnterprises to proceed with its $225-million project herethat will include a new Whole Foods store.

The developer can now seek permits for plots and grading for the37-acre site in Prince George's County. Company officials say thegroundbreaking could take place as early as this fall with anopening possible by early 2015, according to the WashingtonPost.

The Whole Foods store will be built on a parcel on Route 1 northof East-West Highway. The development will also includeapproximately 1,000 units of multifamily housing, a 120-room hotel,22,000 square feet of office space and some 168,000 square feet ofretail space.
