AUSTIN, TX—A picture is worth a thousand words, especially when it comes to real estate listings. Exposed brick, vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows are more immediately understood when they are shown off versus described. The rise of photo sharing on social networks such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter gives brokers a considerable opportunity to connect with potential tenants and appeal to their senses. Sharing images across these networks can help grab a potential tenant’s attention much more effectively than more traditional forms of marketing.

Brokers are no strangers to sharing photos. Real estate agents have been sharing fliers for ages, in the same way that teenagers share pictures online today. The cooler agents are sharing the photos of their best listings online in order to build name recognition, the same way that teenagers brandish photos of themselves all over the Internet trying to gain cool points by showing off their new kicks.
