NEW YORK CITY—Former CBRE retail broker JeddNero has joined Avison Young. With more than 25 years ofretail real estate experience, Nero is now a principal andexecutive managing director. He will work closely with AvisonYoung's executive leadership and tri-state president ArthurMirante to grow the firm's retail services platform in NewYork City, including recruiting retail real estate specialists. Healso will represent landlords and retailers in all aspects of theirretail space needs.

Previously an EVP at CBRE, Nero's position at Avison Young wascreated for him after the company's offer simply was too good topass up, he tells GlobeSt.com. “What attracted me was the principalled culture, which was new for me, and it's exciting. Having avested interest, and having others here be in the same position, raises the bar of what we can bring to the table forcustomers.”

Avison's unique structure is too appealing for other real estatecompanies not to consider, he notes. “I think other firms mayfollow suit. It's certainly going to the shake the tree and makepeople think twice about how our business operates. Thecollaborative feeling here is real.”
