Real estate investment trusts inparticular have outperformed their stock market counterparts asinvestors have flocked to the relative safety of these companies.Even with a momentary dip in investor confidence—thanks to fears ofrising interest rates fueled by the Fed's announcement that itwould end its bond-buying program—REITs remained king of theproverbial hill.
