The company's new 56,000-square-foot supermarket (Whole FoodsMarket Third & 3rd) is located on just over 4 acres in theGowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn.It consists of two levels of retail space, a rooftop greenhousethat will grow and supply produce to the store, a second-floorrestaurant space overlooking southwest Brooklyn, and a landscapedpublic walking path along the Gowanus Canal and the 4th StreetBasin.

The store participated in a number of New York State Energy Research and DevelopmentAuthority (NYSERDA) programs and is pursuingLEED® Platinum certification.
