WASHINGTON, DC—The U.S. Department of Educationhas been forced to turn the page on its plans to consolidate threeof its expired leases into the federally-owned Mary SwitzerBuilding.

The Department of Health and Human Services itturns out has decided to occupy the entire building at 300 C St.SW. The Department of Education has responded by seeking otheroffice options through a prospectus posted on the GeneralServices Administration's website, according to theWashington Business Journal.

The three expired leases are located at 550 12th St. SW, 555 NewJersey Ave. NW, and 1990 K St. NW. The prospectus must be approvedby the House and the Senate before the GSA moves forward with theDepartment of Education office consolidation requirement.
