TULSA--Home furnishings retailer WestElm is opening a new retail store in Tulsa, Okla.Located in the outdoor shopping complex UticaSquare, the 10,000-square-foot-plus store will be thesecond location in Oklahoma for the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based brand.(The other is in Oklahoma City.) It is set to open next Thursday,Aug. 28.

Designed to reflect the cultural and architectural heritage ofTulsa, it will feature a curated selection of products made in thestate, as part of West Elm's LOCAL initiative.A limited edition Tulsa tote bag, designed by local letterpressstudio RuffHouse Art, will be given away to the first 300shoppers with a $50 minimum purchase.

“We're actively seeking locations where we can make the biggestimpact by supporting local makers and creating jobs in our stores,”said West Elm president Jim Brett.
