BALTIMORE—The General Services Administrationhas decided it will no longer pursue a real estate swap plan thatwould have seen the agency unload its Metro Westfacility on North Green Street here.

The change in policy was revealed in a General Accounting Officereport released on Monday that stated, “GSA officials told us thatthere was little or no market interest in potential swap-constructexchanges in Baltimore."

The GSA's stance raises new questions about the future of the1.1 million-square foot facility, which became vacant when theSocial Security Administration moved its 1,600employees to its new building on Wabash Avenue, according to theBaltimore Business Journal.
