WASHINGTON, DC—While the General ServicesAdministration has canceled a pre-solicitation forconstruction management services, the agency says the renovationsto the Center Building will proceed asplanned.

Jackeline Stewart, a spokesperson for the GSA,says that the agency will in fact move ahead with the next phase ofthe Department of Homeland Security consolidationand expects to award a contract for the renovations to the CenterBuilding by the end of the fiscal year, according to the WashingtonBusiness Journal.

GSA Administrator Dan Tangherlini has said thatno matter what transpires with the federal budget there is enoughfunding for the Center Building renovation project, which has beenestimated to cost between $100 million and $140 million. See storyin the Washington Business Journal.
