PHILADELPHIA, PA—The Philadelphia Urban Leagueis to receive a five-year, $1 million community investmentcommitment from the national Urban League organization. The fundswill support job-training for youth and mature workers, collegepreparation, a jobs network, entrepreneurship support, smallbusiness financing and resources, and tax credits, amongothers.

Marc H. Morial, president and CEO of theNational Urban League – the nation's largesthistoric civil rights and urban advocacy organization – hasrecognized Philadelphia as a designated Jobs Rebuild Americamarket, with a five year, $1 million community investmentcommitment from 2011-2016.

“As our nation continues to struggle with post-recession un- andunder-employment, creating jobs and economically viable communitiesmust be a collaborative, tripod effort between the government,corporate and nonprofit sectors,” saysMorial. “Our Jobs Rebuild America initiativeis a leading example that public-private-nonprofit partnerships candrive job creation and the program innovation required torevitalize struggling communities.
