TRENTON, NJ—New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie andNew York Gov. Andrew Cuomo vetoed their respectivelegislatures' bills to reform the Port Authority of NewYork and New Jersey in favor of their own plan.

Christie and Cuomo's release of their own proposals to institutereforms at the Port Authority coincided with the release of a103-page report from a panel appointed by the two governors.

“These changes reflect the need for a profound and necessaryreimagining of the Port Authority governing structure, operations,and transparency in its oversight of the world's largesttransportation and commerce network,” Christie said in astatement.
