CULLMAN, AL—With the recent grand opening ofPublix and Dick Sporting Goods,Cullman Shopping Center's year-long redevelopmenthas achieved 100% occupancy, reopening with more than 400,000square feet of modern retail space.

The revitalization of the property developed byMerchants Retail Partners(MRP), Birmingham, AL, has attracted five new anchors to the growingCullman trade area, including Publix, Dicks Sporting Goods,Ulta Cosmetics, Petsmart and Ross Dress forLess. According toBill Letiner, MRPprincipal, “Our market reaction to Publix and Dick's grand openinghas greatly exceeded our expectations. We look forward to openingthe remaining anchors over the next few months.”

Beginning September 2014, MRP began a comprehensiveredevelopment of the retail center, one that focused on an improvedshopping experience. Architecturally, a new façade, tower features,and curated landscape and hardscape package was part of themakeover. In addition, the existing center expanded byapproximately 120,000 square feet to accommodate for the newPublix, Dick's sporting goods, and ULTA cosmetics.
